Sam and Rod land trebles for Newby

SCARBOROUG­H NEWS DIVISION THREE NEWBY JFS 8 ROGUES N JOSHERS 2 A very entertaini­ng night of table tennis.

Newby’s Sam Lowe a nd debutant Rod Ives scored trebles and Jack Louth got the better of his nerves to impress with a brace.

Rogues were under strength and had to rely on the experience of Tom Anderson to get them a single and a win in the doubles partnering Michaela Pricope. DELPHSTONE 3 WHITBY RESOLUTION 7 A family affair for Delphstone with division number on Jon Wanless playing with sons William and Chris.

It was Jon who got Delphstone’s only points by not dropping a set on his way to a treble.

William just missed out on a single, losing to Mike Stones 12-10 in the decider.

Stones, Dan Schweitzer and Stuart Hurworth all hit two singles with Hurworth and Stones taking the doubles.
