Rutter shines in York Parkrun

Scarboroug­h Athletic Club members continue to compete in Parkruns around the country

Helen Rutter, who has achieved three recent personal best times at Sewerby, opted to run in the York Parkrun which has a much larger entry.

Her time of 23 minutes 15 seconds resulted in 11th of 191 females, and the first over-40

At N o r w i c h , E m m a Graves, who is a Norwich University of Art undergradu­ate, competed for the fifth time in the Norwich Parkrun at Eaton Park, and ran a fourth personal best time of 25.08 when finishing 30th overall of 163 females and fourth 20- 24 agegroup. Jayne Graves

competed with her daughter for the third time at Norwich and achieved a s e c o nd pers o nal best time of 25.44 when finishing 39th overall and third over-50.

They were j oi ned by Sharon Corden who has b e e n t r a i ni ng wi t h t h e cl ub’s beginners group, and will now be j oi ning the club.

Cord e n made a ve r y good event debut with a 27.41 time and 58th overall.

At Sewerby, seven club members were led home by Joe Harper, who clocked 21.54 and was 19th male overall and first under-17

Next to finish was Helen Rutter, who led five female club members, and scored another personal best time when finishing seventh female overall and second over-40.

The next club female finisher was Jane Kay with 1 2th overal l a nd f ourth over-45 in 25.54.

In the same age group, Alison Hornsby was fifth in 29.06 and Linda Hinchliffe 6th in 30.01. Ciara Harper was next i n 30.35 and fourth under-14.
