Toys appeal to stock fair stall
If you have toys from a galaxy far, far away, you may be able to help Saint Catherine’s latest fundraising bid.
The hospice shop in Hunmanby has been offered a free stand at a new toy and collectors’ fair coming to Scarborough and is looking for donations of sought-after toys to sell.
Shop manager Amity Dunn said they were already pulling in donated toys from all 11 of Saint Catherine’s shops but were also looking for more collectables they could convert into cash for patient care.
“What we’d really l ike is the kind of toys that appeal to collectors, things like Star Wars, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet, Dr Who and Optimus Prime,” she said.
“Our aim is to turn things that are cluttering homes and gathering dust i nto muchneeded funds to help us care for hospice patients and their families.”
Amity is also hoping to see hospice supporters calling in to buy from their stand at the Vintage Toys and Collectables Fair at Scarborough Spa on 1 November.
The hospice provides i n and out-patient care, neurology support, bereavement support and day care for patients across a 1,600 square mile area.
