Monday’s lunch was a very enjoyable meal provided and cooked by Jenny, with Darrell helping to serve. The menu was chunky vegetable soup, bread rolls, mixed sandwiches, with tea and cakes for afters. Members tucked in with hearty appetites, other helpers were residents of Glaves Close.

This week’s darts was on Tuesday, it was a nice friendly night. Phyll was the scorer and Ted checked the scores. Lilian’s team were the winners of the weekly match against Ted’s team, the score was 3-0. Ted excelled himself by being the top scorer with 152.

Fourteen members turned up to play bingo on Wednesday Sheila sold the raffle tickets and Vera the bingo books. Ted as usual was the caller. In the interval tea, cream cake, and lemon drizzle was enjoyed, brought by Vera who was celebratin­g her birthday. Everyone sang Happy Birthday to her. Sheila and Ted drew the raffle. Pat checked the winning books for bingo.

Lilian and Phyll cooked and served for Thursday’s coffee/ breakfast morning of bacon, sausage and mushrooms with members making their bacon butties to enjoy with lovely hot coffee. Two new residents Pauline and Richard joined in for the first time, with everyone enjoying a friendly chat. The morning activity went well, Pat rolled her sleeves up and helped clear up.
