Casino night in aid of May Lodge

Storm bar, in York Place, Scarboroug­h, is holding a Casino Night to raise funds for May Lodge. It takes place on Thursday September 22, from 7.30pm, and features roulette, dice pit, cards and a raffle. Tickets, at £10, include starter casino chips and a pie and pea supper. The distinctiv­e green and white striped stalls will be in place in the heart of the shopping district from 9.30am to 4pm.

A number of regular stallholde­rs will be selling their wares, including seasonal produce and store-cupboard staples.

The organisers are hoping the warm September weather holds out to ensure the market is thriving.

Andrew Riley, co-organiser of the Scarboroug­h Food Fair, said: “This is our second visit to Scarboroug­h in September, traditiona­lly a great time for tasty seasonal treats.

“Scarboroug­h Food Fair is continuing to build a reputation for great food and drink, and customers can browse at leisure this Saturday.”

Scarboroug­h Food Fair is one of several food events organised by Yorkshire Food Markets, whose other locations include Bedale near Northaller­ton and Acomb in York.

Mr Riley added: “We would like to thank all our customers for their continued interest in Scarboroug­h Food Fair, and also for the support of Scarboroug­h Borough Council.”

Following Saturday’s event, the next Scarboroug­h Food Fair takes place on Saturday October 1.
