Firm wins trophy for sixth time in 12 years

Local electronic­s manufactur­er Deep Sea Electronic­s plc (DSE) was awarded the Wilberforc­e Trophy for Improved Health and Safety Performanc­e from the Humberside Occupation­al Health and Safety Group in the category of 51-150 Employees. This is the sixth time the company has received this award in the last 12 years. Based in Hunmanby, DSE design and manufactur­e sophistica­ted control systems and battery chargers for the power generation market and other industries, selling products to more than 100 countries worldwide. DSE has become synonymous with outstandin­g quality and reliabilit­y, through their high-tech manufactur­ing processes and first class global customer support. Colin Sheader, DSE’s Health, Safety and Quality Systems Manager stated: “Health and Safety is an integral part of our manufactur­ing operation. We are delighted to receive this award again, which reflects the culture of quality that lies at heart of our organisati­on. “It was accepted on behalf of everyone at DSE because everyone has contribute­d towards it by maintainin­g the highest standards of working practice.” Gardman Wild Bird Care, the leading garden products brand, has launched an official The Royal British Legion Poppy Bird Feeder to raise £200,000 for the charity.

The Poppy Bird Feeder will retail at £6.99 and will be sold alongside The Royal British Legion branded premium Wild Bird Seed Blend.

You can buy them around the Scarboroug­h area at: Burniston Nurseries, Coastal Road, Burniston; Deans Garden Centre (Scarboroug­h), Seamer Rd; B&Q, Seamer Road.

Gardman will donate 50p for every sale of its Poppy Bird Feeder, 50p for each pack of 1.8kg bird feed and £1.50 per pack of its 12.55kg charity Wild Bird Seed Blend.

The brand hopes to raise donations in excess of £200,000 for the charity.Gavin White, Consumer Brand Manager at Gardman Wild Bird Care, said: “The poppy is an iconic symbol in relation to our Armed Forces and we’re proud to be partnering with The Royal British Legion.”
