Festive family fundraising is on its way to Scarborough as St Cat her ine’ sg ears up for its annual Santa Dash.

Festive family fundraising is on its way to Scarborough as Saint Catherine’s gears up for its annual Santa Dash.

This year, Dashers will don their Santa suits and follow either a 5k or 10k route from Scarborough Sea Life Centre and along the North Bay.

Participants are encouraged to bring along family and friends for this fun event. As people can go at any pace they like, from a sprint to a saunter, it’s a fundraiser open to all.

Hospice fundraiser Nicky Grunwell said they hoped lots of people would join in the fun on the morning of Sunday December 11.

“There’s always such a lovely atmosphere as people get into the Christmas spirit by helping others,” she said. “It’s fabulous for us to see so many families, from babies in prams to grandparents, coming together to support our vital work.

“This year, with the addition of the 10k option, we also hope to attract some running clubs, gyms and boot campers.”

Entry is £10 and includes your Santa suit. There is a special offer for a family of four at £30. The event is being supported by the Sea Life Centre who are offering refreshments to all participants and £5 entry on the day into the Sealife Centre.

For details and to register, call the fundraising department on (01723) 378406 or go to www.stcatherineshospicenyorks.org
