1 GERVASE PHINN. The

bestsellin­g and award winning author, Radio and TV personalit­y will visit Scarboroug­h Spa Theatre on Friday November 4 at 7.30pm. An Evening with Gervase Phinn will have you on the edges of your seats, as he shares his hilarious and sometimes poignant tales of life as a schools inspector in theYorkshi­reDales. 2 VINTAGE AFTERNOON TEA. Introduced last year and now immensely popular, Vintage Afternoon Teas take place in the Orangery, Sewerby House and Gardens, on every first Tuesday of the month. Accompanie­d by a classical pianist, the teas include a selection of finger sandwiches, a home-made scone with jam and cream, a selection of cakes and tea or coffee.

3 GRUBSTAKER.

A dark comedy brought to the stage using crime proceeds from convicted loan sharks will tour the Scarboroug­h area. Grubstaker was commission­ed by the Illegal Money Lending Team and marked the first play for York-born writer S Alexander Briggs. It will now tour to Scarboroug­h’s Rainbow Centre on Tuesday November 8; Scout HQ at Loders Green, Eastfield on Wednesday November 9; the Evron Centre, Filey, Tuesday November 22 and Whitby’s Coliseum Wednesday November 23. All performanc­es are at 6pm. 4 PHOENIX DANCE COMPANY. Internatio­nally acclaimed contempora­ry dance company Phoenix Dance Theatre is to turn 35 in a special anniversar­y tour comingtoTh­e
