Heslerton Under-11s hand Raiders a test
team performance into the second half, Heslerton ended the game with goals from Billy Keough (5), Hayden Williamson (3) and Joe Pierce in a deserved win.
Keough and Williamson shared man of the match with goalkeeper Ben Peckitt, who was excellent throughout.
FC Seamer Stormers Un
der-14s beat Whitby Fishermen 2-0.
This was a top-of-the-table clash with both sides going into the game with 100% records, and as expected, it was a highly-competitive and exciting football match.
A strong Fishermen team had most of the early play but Stormers’ resolute and disciplined defence restricted Whitby to very few chances on goal and the first half finished goalless.
The deadlock was finally broken when Seamer striker Jamie Hilton found himself free just inside the box and he fired a brilliant strike that flew into the top corner, leaving the keeper with no chance.
Stormers were now on the front foot and were quickly on the attack again when a fine run and cross from Lewis Mitchell found Josh Smith unmarked in the box, and he made no mistake to increase Stormers’ lead.
Fishermen upped the tempo to try and get back into the game, but were unable create many chances to trouble Stormers.
Both sides gave 100% providing a very entertaining game for the spectators, with Stormers coming out on top with an excellent all-round team performance to make it
nine straight league victories. Heslerton Juniors Un
der-14s took to the field somewhat rusty having played no competitive football for a month and it was no surprise when Scholes Park took an early first half lead, despite Will Gilbank in the Heslerton net making a string of saves.
The Blues got their passing football going but were unable to pull level, Scholes increasing their lead after the interval.
Keeper Gilbank was called into action making a fine save from a Scholes penalty before Olaf Mazur pulled one back for Heslerton.
The home side pressed forward but it was the visitors who were to grab a fourth before full-time to complete their 4-1 victory.
Heslerton Hawks Under14s won 7-2 against Ayton Athletic.
With a depleted Ayton side, Heslerton did the sportsmanlike thing and played a 10-aside game.
Heslerton took the lead early through headed goals from energetic striker Tom Allan and Josh Dolan, stunning the visitors into life.
Ayton battled back, creating a couple of chances, before Sam Owen’s sublime 20-yard curled finish into the top corner put the Hawks 3-0 up.
In the second half the two sides exchanged goals, with man of the match Alex Troop rewarded for his tireless running with a fourth, before Jayden Isaacs helped himself to a hat-trick in the closing stages.
Both sides offered good accounts of themselves, with the final scoreline flattering the Hawks. Scalby Under-14s travelled to a young Hunmanby team and ran in 16 goals.
Reuben Staveley and Jake Reeves scored four, dynamic midfielder Tyler Smith chipped in with three and captain Ted Edwards grabbed a double.
Connor Avison, a Kai Wood penalty and man of the match Louis Kille all got one goal each.
Full credit to Hunmanby for a brave performance and they grabbed two welldeserved goals through Jack Adams and Lewis Hitchcock, while Alex Swales had a fine game at left-back for the Hunmanby Hornets.
Flixton Under-16s beat WestPier 3-1 in their League Cup quarter-final. Cameron Myerscough, Luke Smith and Harry Ward grabbed the goals for George Roberts’ side. Phoenix Under-16s also progressed to the next round of the cup with a comfortable 6-0 win at Scalby.
Despite early promise, early goals from Kieran Assanowicz and Josh Fergus stunned the hosts and Phoenix never looked back and were 3-0 up at the break.
In the second half Scalby remained competitive, however keeper Charlie Hopper was equal to anything they threw at him.
Assanowicz and Fergus both completed hat-tricks after some good forward play, with star man Robbie Hill dominating in midfield throughout the contest for the victorious Phoenix.
Scholes Park Under-11s hosted Heslerton in what proved to be an entertaining fixture. Scholes easily won when the side’s last met, but the Blues put up a better performance this time around.
Heslerton assistant manager Danny Wilkin said: “Well done to Under-11s.
“We gave Scholes a good test, compared to our last game with them.
“We should have won, we had a few chances but didn’t finish them off. Well done to both teams for a good game.”
FCSeamerUnder-Sevens Scorpions took on Heslerton Under-Sevens.
Scorpions opened the scoring after a great team attack allowed Charlie Hughes to find the net.
Heslerton quickly equalised through Lee Cappleman before Jayden Simpson restored Seamer’s lead after a sharp turn on the edge of the box and finish into the corner.
Man of the match for Seamer went to goalkeeper Matthew Webster, while Keane Welburn claimed the player of the match award for Heslerton. Scalby Under-Eights met Heslerton Hedgehogs.
The first match was a great game of football and finished with goals from Dylan Oxendale, Jamie Moss and a fine strike by Luke Allardice which was enough for the Heslerton to take the win.
The second match was another great advertisement for junior football and it finished with goals for Dylan Oxendale,
Eli Howden, Noah Johnson and John Mathers, which was once again enough to earn the Hedgehogs another victory.
Parents player was Oxendale and man of the match Howden. Eastfield Under-Eights took on Thornton Dale.
It was great start from Eastfield with some quick pressing from Tyler Burnett which lead to Jack Wood getting a goal with a lovely strike from just inside the box.
Dale then played some great football that kept Eastfield under pressure and scored a few great goals themselves.
Burnett’s outstanding pressing and determination to win the ball saw him notch a second goal in a game that saw both teams play well. Heslerton Under-Eights
Jaguars put in a massively improved performance in their visit to Kirkbymoorside.
The Jaguars had Alfie Rouph, Harley Bott and Jack McDougall organising and communicating well.
Jaguars conceded but equalised through McDougall. Tia-Mae Walker played well in goal, Joey Palmer and Aaron Walton tackled hard up front.
Kirkbymoorside got a second in a close match.
Owen Ellis and Ryan Cooper came on, continuing the good work.
The second game saw a debut from Oscar Young, whose performance in defence earned him the man of the match award. Heslerton Under-Nines
Pirates hosted Scholes Park and put in a much improved performance.
The visitors scored first, but Heslerton grabbed a goal back when Malachey Kendrew headed home a corner from man of match Kenzie Palliser
Alfie Bradbury was the man of match in game two with a string of fine saves, Kendrew scored again for the Pirates in a hard-fought game
Heslerton Under-Nines Buccaneers visited Thornton Dale.
Ben Whitaker-Ellis was in goal with Warren Stanton and Oliver Sim in defence, Sammy Barber and Jack Boyes in midfield with William Leeson and Oskar Olsen up front, Shaun Isaac coming on.
End-to-end football saw Thornton narrowly win, while man of the match was Stanton.
Game two saw WhitakerEllis score and also get the man of the match in an entertaining draw, played in a great spirit.
Scholes Park Tigers Under-10s travelled to Kirkbymoorside.
The long journey didn’t seem to trouble Scholes, who were up for the match from the first whistle.
Kirkby made the game tough and it took some some gutsy defending from the whole team and some outstanding goalkeeping from Scholes’ Charlie Geall to keep Kirkbymoorside out.
However, the Tigers played some football on a difficult pitch and took their chances to finish with a great 5-1 win. Ayton Under-10s travelled to Flamborough for a hard-fought match.
A good team performance from Ayton saw them score goals through Edwyn Elliott,
Hobson two and Josh Borrie.
The stand-out performer for Ayton was Borrie, who got the man of the match award after a hard-working display HeslertonUnder-10swelcomed West Pier Panthers.
The hosts scored early through Myles Johnson and despite creating more chances, couldn’t add to their tally.
Man of the match went to scorer Johnson.
The second game saw the visitors take the lead but strikes from Beck Hutchinson, Matthew Moss and Rio Howden saw the Blues home.
Man of the match went to Tommy Palmer. Seamer Under-12s took on for the second week running in another highly competitive game.
The visitors raced to a deserved 3-0 lead at half-time and the game looked all but over.
Seamer came back out for the second half with renewed determination and soon got themselves back in the game.
A fine run and shot from Oliver Jackson was parried into the path of Lewis Hunter, who slotted home from close range.
A second goal soon followed when captain Archie McNaughton drilled a longrange effort into the bottom corner.
Both teams competed fiercely for possession and further chances came at both ends.
But it was Seamer who claimed the vital last goal after a late corner was deflected into their own net by an unfortunate Pickering defender to complete a remarkable comeback for the home side.
HeslertonUnder-12s produced their best performance of the season with a 9-4 home victory over Phoenix Colts.
Early scoring had the sides level at 2-2 before Heslerton took control and ended the half 5-2 leaders.
