Kirk shines for Corinthian­s

If Corinthian­s B are to escape the Scarboroug­h Flooring

He again shone by winning his three singles and notching a hard-earned fiveset doubles win with Trevor Teasdale.

The latter had his best game of the season and got the scalp of Stuart Robinson after grinding him down in five long sets.

The remaining single was won by Lee.

Hobnobs looked a solid outfit with spin maestro, Mike Wheatley scoring a brace and singles for Robinson and Ajay Tandan.

There was a predictabl­e 6-4 win for James Builders against Rolo, though Martin Lowe hit another immaculate maximum.

All sets were won by him with no opponent getting above seven points.

Lowe also won the doubles with son Ethan.

The victors won the remaining rubbers, Mark Chajecki, Simon James and Mike Fenby, all taking two singles.

Game of the night was Fenby’s win over Matty Lowe. The master defender had to use all his guile to win in five sets against the promising youngster.

In the Scarboroug­h Flooring Division Two ,therewas an exciting contest with

Picadore’s Steve Atkinson defeating all three Trinity players, who are all above him in the averages, though his team lost 6-4.

His win over Moke Warburton was the highlight, taking the last two sets nine and 12.

Teammate Nigel Chandley was rewarded for his efforts with a single.

Trinity secured the win with a brace each from Sam Lowe and John Warburton.

Moke Warburton was unlucky just to add a single, but she did manage a doubles triumph with Sam Lowe to secure the win.

Struggling Scalby paid the price for playing with two stand in players as they lost 10-0 to Hobnobs B.

Hobnobs totally dominated and inflicted a whitewash win.

Chris Found, Tom Byrne stayed unbeaten and Ann Seery took all her singles without dropping a set.

Found and Seery added the doubles together in four sets.

Eastfield Fusion’s Daniel Lister and Steve Miller were on top form to take all their singles by only dropping one setinthe Glazetech Division

Three win against Rogues N Joshers.

Third player Rick Lear added a single.

In reply, Rogues could only muster singles for John Blaymires and Dominic Grunwell, plus a worthy doubles success together.

Delphstone’s new signing Matthew Rutt hit another treble but it was not enough to get his side a win in the 6-4 loss against Whitby Endeavour.

Whitby’s experience saw them home with Dan Schweitzer and Stuart Hurworth scoring twice and Mike Stones adding a single.

The doubles also went Whitby’s way with Hurworth and Schweitzer taking it in four sets. Delphstone’s other scorer was Russell Ives.

Bingo McVitie’s youngsters showed off their ruthless streak with a 10-0 win over luckless Liberators.

Frazer Ives, Jack Louth and Rod Ives all hit trebles with Louth in particular impressing.

Fourth player Isaac Grunwell took part in the kill with a straight set doubles win, partnering Rod Ives.
