Probus Club and Churches Together present carol festival in Filey

Filey Probus Club welcomed family, friends and members of the community to a carol festival with Churches Together. The event took place at the Methodist Chapel, Filey, and was hosted by the Rev Graham Morgan. A pre-festival music and slideshow was presented by Robert Child and the organ was played by Bryce Chatto, music curriculum leader at Filey Ebor Academy. A welcome was given by Probus president Brian Appleton and the Master of Ceremonies was Mr Gra- ham. Carols included Once in Royal David’s City, Cradled in a Manger and Hark the Herald Angels. Choral pieces were presented by Filey Ebor Academy Choir and there was a reading by Sandra Barker.

This was followed by an a cappella solo by David Burnet titled “Wild Mountain Thyme”, a performanc­e by John Sellers and a dismissal and blessing by The Four Clerics. Refreshmen­ts and mince pies were served after the service. Filey Probus Club wishes to thank all who contribute­d to the retiring collection for Churches Together in Filey, Rev Morgan and Filey Methodist Chapel and all those who supported the event.
