lovely start to our Christmas celebratio­ns. We even had a visit from Father Christmas bringing a sack of surprises. Everyone had a wonderful time.

The next meeting is on Tuesday January 3 at the village hall starting 7.15pm, when it is the annual general meeting followed by a quiz.

We have a lovely calendar of events for the following meeting, why not join us, you will be made most welcome.

The mid-month coffee morning will be at Betton Farm at 10.30am on Monday January 16. We are also starting some craft afternoons on the second and fourth Wednesday of the month, January 11 and 25, at the village hall, 2pm-4pm. Bring your knitting, quilting or cross stitching. Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. There are no more activities until after the new year.

The Rev Andrew Moreland officiated and the singing was accompanie­d by the Simply Brass band. After singing the chairman, Cllr William H Smith, gave a warm welcome to everyone and invited them to enjoy a buffet supper, which was sponsored by Seamer Parish Council and prepared by members of the committee and Methodist Church members.

The chairman also gave grateful thanks to a former chairman and secretary, Michael and Lily Jefferson, for their very kind donation of a stained glass nativity scene, he also thanked everyone for their attendance and wished them a happy Christmas. including raffle and cakes. Everyone is very welcome.
