Christmas social

-

The last meeting of the year for the St Andrew’s URC Afternoon Fellowship was held on December 7, when members held their Christmas social.

Chairman Carol Beamson told the Christmas story in a slightly different way, and the St Andrew’s Singers sang unusual or not well-known carols. The members sang the more traditional favourites, and the meeting ended with a buffet.

The first meeting of 2017 will be held on January 11, when Mrs McNaughton will give a talk about Victoria Drummond, who, born in a Perthshire castle, was a goddaughter of Queen Victoria, and became a debutante, and managed to fulfil her dream of becoming a marine engineer, even winning bravery awards in the Second World War.

Meetings begin at 2pm and are held at St Andrew’s URC, Ramshill, in the church hall, entry to which is via the Albion Crescent door; and everyone is welcome. Those attending simply pay £2 at the door to cover running costs. For further information please contact Mrs McNaughton on 01723 369070. 10 miles.
