New OAT shows.
Ska legends Madness will headline a show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre in 2017.
The British pop icons, who have been thrilling audiences for four decades, will headline Europe’s largest open air theatre on Thursday August 3.
The band’s gig at Scarborough OAT is presented by promoters Cuffe and Taylor, whose director Peter Taylor said: “Madness are a Great British institution who, as proven by their fantastic performance at Glastonbury this summer, remain one of the best live acts around.
“Their new album is right up there with some of their best work and we cannot wait to bring them to Scarborough OAT for what promises to be a night of Madness-style mayhem, unbridled fun and songs that have become ingrained into the nation’s musical psyche over the past 30 years.”
Pop superstars The Human League, Midge Ure and Technotronic are also heading to the theatre for a night of chart-topping classics.
They join Brit Award winner Betty Boo, Johnny Hates Jazz and Living in a Box featuring Kenny Thomas for a special 80s v 90s night at Europe’s largest open air theatre on Saturday August 5.
Tickets for both shows are priced from £29.50 and are available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk (0844 844 0444) and www. scarboroughopenairtheatre.com or in person from Scarborough Open Air Theatre Box Office (01723 818111) and the Discover Yorkshire Coast Tourism Bureau (01723 383636).
