It is hosting a special day with a historical theme. The literary events are organised as part of Ryedale Book Festival’s programme.

Laura Kennedy from National Trust said: “We are extremely excited and proud to collaborate with the Ryedale Book Festival and to host such a special literary event at Nunnington Hall. The day’s activities will offer something for all ages.”

There will be the chance to hear the bestselling writer of historical fiction, Sophia Tobin, discussing her latest novel The Vanishing and her day-job in the library of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths in London.

The Vanishing is a story of intrigue, revenge and betrayal and perfect reading for fans of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre.
