At this week’s Monday Lunch Club, residents had a lovely meal of roast chicken breast, green beans, roast potatoes, and gravy with mushrooms all provided and cooked by Jenny, and helped to be served by Phyl. Then it was tea or coffee and mixed biscuits, all diners enjoying a chat whilst eating.

Bingo on Wednesday with Ted the caller, Vera and Lilian were in charge of the books and raffle tickets. In the interval Lilian brought cream buns, cream cake, and cheese cake to share with the tea in the interval, as she was celebratin­g her birthday, then we all sand Happy Birthday to her. The raffle was then drawn by Lilian and Ted.

Coffee breakfast this week was cooked and served by Phyl and Lilian, who made scrambled egg on toast, mushrooms, bacon and saute potatoes, then coffee, orange juice, toast and jam or marmalade, which the residents enjoyed eating and chatting together. signed, proposed by Bryan Bolton and seconded by Margaret Hodgson.

Primulas had been bought and the annual insurance had been paid.

The group are looking for volunteers and are pleased to announce that the refurbishe­d boat on the Village Green is now in place after a long absence. The boat bed will be replanted with permanent plants and stones will be placed around the boat. All tubs in the village will be ready for Easter weekend.

The Muck and Magic Clean Up weekend will take place tomorrow, Friday until Sunday when everyone is invited to help with the litter pick up.

A fundraisin­g stall for Osgodby In Bloom will be held at the plant fair at Ebenezer Church Hall, Columbus Ravine, manned by volunteers, on Saturday 3 June from 9am12pm. bed on West Garth around 10.50am during their busy tour of the Borough.

The national campaign is being backed by wildlife presenter Steve Backshall and organisati­ons including Keep Britain Tidy, the Women’s Institute and the RSPCA.
