March is going to be a busy month at Derwent Valley BRIDGE. There are still tickets left for our talk “Poisoned Pen” at 7pm on 9 March by local crime writer Kate Evans. If you want to know what makes a good “who dunnit” the come along and hear Kate talk about the key elements which make up a crime novel. Tickets are £3, including refreshmen­ts and are available from Derwent Valley BRIDGE Community Library, 3 Pickering Road, West Ayton. Telephone 01723 863052. On 21 March from 10am2pm we will be hosting a Cancer Awareness Day run by the Macmillan Mobile Informatio­n and Support Service. Keith Taylor a local Macmillan Health Champion will be on hand to offer informatio­n, support and awareness to anyone affected by cancer. Please just call in to the Community Library and see what help is available to support patients and their family and friends.

The very popular Baby Booktime is starting up again on Tuesday. The sessions run from 1.45pm for about an hour. There will be five sessions up to Easter and five after the Easter break. Join us as we explore the world of books through a sensory storytime designed especially for babies aged 0-walking. Places are limited so please contact us via facebook message or on 01723 863052 to reserve your place! We ask for a £1 donation per session towards refreshmen­ts and resources.

Come and celebrate Mothers’ Day on Saturday 25 March. From 10.30am onwards there will be a chance to share a story and make a gift for your Mum, Stepmum or Grandma. Relax and enjoy some special time together. There will be cakes and drinks available and other members of the family are welcome too.
