Pupils in the spotlight at Pathways show

Pupils from Filey and Hunmanby are set to shine at the Stephen Joseph Theatre (SJT) today (Thursday 9 March) as part of the Pathways event.

Pupils from Hunmanby Primary School and Filey CE VC Infant and Nursery School will star on the theatre’s world-famous Round stage as part of the two-day event. Diana Logan, the SJT’s Associate director (Education), said: “Anything can happen in this week of creative and exciting theatre-making!” Tickets for Pathways cost £3 for each day and are available from the SJT Box Office on 01723 370541. Kieran Sandwell, 45, is taking on the incredible challenge, called Trail of Two Hearts, to mark the end of his long battle with heart disease after having a heart transplant eight years ago.

He is now hoping to raise £100,000 for the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) life saving research.

Kieran said: “The inspiratio­n for my challenge came to me around 25 years ago, but then I would never have been abletocomp­letesuchan­endurance challenge.

“It’s only thanks to my donor,theBHF,theBrompto­nand Papworth Hospital and NHS Blood and Transplant that I am abletomake­mydreamare­ality.

“My second heart has enabled me to do so much and I’m urging the public to help me support the BHF’s groundbrea­king research by making a donation.”
