... plus Daniel, Bobby, Lily
DANIEL BAXTER Also nominated for the Courage over Physical Adversity award is Daniel Baxter. Despite having a disability which affects the muscles and tendons in his legs, Daniel has had the courage and determination to successfully complete his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Bobby Reed has global development delay across the board.
He has communication and vocal disabilities as well as autism and feeding issues. Through it all, he is so BOBBY REED determined to do all the things he can.
Some days Bobby is like a newborn baby yet he still has a big smile on his face. Another strong candidate is Lily Pitman who has left side hemiplegia, a form of cerebral palsy.
She joined 1st Scarborough (Northstead) Brownies in September and was a shy little girl at first.
Now she has blossomed and bounces into Brownies. She is very independent and mixes well with other children too. The Brownies recently did their Road Safety Badge which saw them walk around the Newlands area and crossing several roads. The leaders thought Lily may struggle but no, she was cheering everyone on. Thank you to sponsors Toymaster for supporting this category. The presentation taking place at Scarborough Rugby Club on Monday April 3 will include speeches from the mayor of the borough of Scarborough Cllr Simon Green, and mayoress Val will be in attendance.
