Literary Lunch Hour at Woodend, Scarborough, on Thursday August 17 with Helen Burke on 50 years of hilarious poetry.
1 Milton Strictly Summer Spectacular Rooms, Malton
An evening of music, dance and entertainment with the Vintage Rhythm Big Band, kicking the evening off at 7.30pm with the first of their three Sets.
They play lots of the great dance music from 1920s to 1950s.
There will be many of their numbers, which folk can dance to such as Cheek to Cheek, In the Mood, Cherry Pink, Sway and Tuxedo Junction.
DJ Baz and friend, Ian, will be entertaining with at least one cabaret spot, singing Pretty Woman;. Love is in the Air Fly me to the Moon etc. And Baz will be playing ballroom dance music.
Special guests for the evening, will be top amateur competition ballroom dancers Trish and Adam Cawood, from Leeds, who reached the last 16 in European Latin Competition.

The Crescent, Scarborough, Thursday August 17 from 1pm. A new series of afternoon events, featuring the latest books and authors from Scarborough’s awardwinning publishing house Valley Press.

House, near Driffield, Thursday August 17 to Sunday August 20 Greg Andrew with his show the Elton John Experience’ is making the 9,460-mile trip from Queensland, Australia, to appear at Tribfest. Ed Faulkner, festival director said: “We’ve had bands appearing at Tribfest from all over Europe, but this is the first time we’ve had an Australian based tribute. When we heard Greg and his tribute to Elton John, we just had to get him across.” Featuring more than 150 acts across seven stages, the main stage headliners for Tribfest are Kazabian (Kasabian), AC/DC UK (AC/DC), JD King’s Elvis (Elvis Presley), and Totally Tina (Tina Turner).
