Zoe keen to help out local runners

-

Runners in the Hunmanby area can pick up a New Year boost in the shape of a new running club.

England qualified run leader Zoe Ruston has started up a new club called Just Run, which will be open to new runners over the age of 16 and is part of the Run Together initiative, which is supported by DW Fitness First and aims to encourage community running and exercise.

Ruston is an experienced runner, having completed several 5km, 10km, half-marathons and full marathons, with impressive times.

To prepare for races, Ruston trains with Scarborough personal trainer Chris Stringer at Body Complete.

Stringer is himself a former 800 metre runner, representing Great Britain in his youth, so is well equipped when it comes to coaching Ruston.

Ruston also recent finished as runner-up in the FitSteps Community Instructor awards as community instructor of the year for the North East region.

After the awards ceremony at the MacDonald Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, she said: “It was such an honour to be nominated by my class members.

“To have come runner-up out of so many instructors and against competition from inner-city groups feels like such a huge pat on the back, it’s great to be putting my home town on the map within the fitness industry.”

Anyone interested in joining the club should contact Ruston on 07968076679.
