Raw cooks up top display in Cudworth

Three of the club’s junior athletes were in action at the North Yorkshire Indoor Athletics meeting at Cudworth.

In the Under-15 girls pentathlon, Jessica Raw concluded a very successful year with a fifth place, and also achieved a personal best score for an indoor pentathlon.

In the five events, she was second in the high jump, third in the shot, fifth in the 60 metres hurdles, fifth in the 800 metres and sixth in the long jump.

Her 800 metres time of 2 minutes 54 seconds was a personal best. She also competed in a 200 metres race for under -17 women and was second with another personal best time of 28.1

Katie Robinson achieved personal best times in all her three events for under-17 women. She was second in the 60 metres hurdles in 9.6 seconds, third in the 200 metres 28.3, and fourth in the 60 metres in 8.8.

Hannah Atkinson bagged PBs in her under-17 women’s events. She was third in the 60 metres in 8.7 and fourth in the 200 metres in 28.3

Three club members took part in the York Yuletide Trail

Race, which consisted of a twolap course which started and finished at Rawcliffe Bar.

Nicki Edmond led the trio and finished 134 thin 51 minutes 33 seconds.

Melanie Day finished alongside Wendy Pattison in 60 minutes 32 seconds, and were placed 190th and 191st respective­ly.
