Watson claims clear win at Sledmere

A club record number of 41 senior runners at an East Yorkshire Cross Country League fixture, competed in the fourth round which was held at Sledmere.

The club members were led by Nev Watson, who achieved a clear win over Bridlingto­n’s Phill Taylor.

Matt Middleton was in 23rd and headed Tom Cassidy was 33rd.

Iain Fletcher was 56rd and ahead of Chris Duck who came 59th. Dale Hepples completed the scoring team in 60th.

The team finished in sixth place but moved up to fifth overall for the season.

Rhona Marshall led the club’s women runners when finishing second female overall and first Over-35.

She was followed by her mother Sue Haslam who was seventh female overall and first Over-60 once again.
