Filey is bedecked with Tour de Yorkshire bunting for May 5.

Just over a week now until the some of world’s best riders come through area

In Muston, there will be events on the village green with money being raised for Muston in Bloom.

The village, like Filey, has been decorated with bunting and blue and yellow bikes.

The Ship Inn will be selling hot food to visitors and a ukelele band will be serenading them as they wait for the peloton to pass through.

Cllr Godfrey Allanson said that people looking to park should head to Mount Pleasant Farm on King Hill where, in return for a small donation to charity, parking in a field will be available.

Cllr Allanson added: “It is going to be amazing for the village, everyone is excited.”

In Filey the event coincides with an RNLI open weekend at the Coble Landing, which will include a lifeboat display and stalls.

Local singer-songwriter Ali Bullivent will be performing Tour de Yorkshire-themed songs at the RNLI station from 12.30pm on the day.

On the beach there will be some giant sand art and formation cycling by Filey Sea Cadets and Bike About Filey. Hertford ward councillor

There will be performanc­es all afternoon from musicians from Filey Folk Festival at the bandstand in Crescent Gardens.

Ahead of the riders arriving the Tour caravan of 30 decorated vehicles will be in Filey an hour earlier.
