Scarborough Food and Gift Fair will be in Westborough offering a wide choice of food and gift ideas to shoppers. Stallholders will be selling their wares from 9.30am to 4pm, offering local produce and crafts in the seaside town ahead of the peloton which is due to pass through Scarborough at 4.30pm as part of the build up to the finish. The cyclists will head away from the town and will return at around 5.25pm for the Stage Three finish in North Bay.
Caroline Anderson, coorganiser of the Scarborough Food and Gift Fair, said: “Scarborough will be buzzing this Saturday as the world-famous Tour de Yorkshire cycle race comes to the town. Sheiks – Al Thompson, TJ Gilfoyle and Tim Ry Riley – will be playing a selection of their favourite songs from 1920s and 30s Americana. They play a blend of popular urban and rural styles including jazz, swing, rag time and country. The Woolgatherers have been writing new material and adding their own interpretation to some classic covers. They perform songs in a range of styles from blues to folk and country and possibly a touch of swing. This year The Woolgatherers will be joined by Roy Piper, well known to Hamps Tramps fans, and Mike Womack with his Knopfleresque guitar playing. Pay on door: £7

6Stephen Klezmer-ish
Joseph Theatre. Scarborough, Saturday May 5 at 7.30pm Klezmer-ish is what happens when four classically trained musicians – all members of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra – let their hair down, explore a wide range of music from travelling people across the world.
Through exploring the music of immigrants from all sorts of musical and cultural backgrounds, Klezmer-ish take us on a musical journey through klezmer, tango, gypsy jazz, Irish fiddle music, Italian folk music. Now in its 4th year Scarborough plays host to the Tour de Yorkshire’s 3rd stage grand finish which takes place on Saturday. This year they are dropping in on villages and market towns some of which include Helmsley - Kirkbymoorside Pickering – Thornton le Dale – Snainton - Brompton by Sawdon – Wykeham - Ayton - Hackness - Scalby - Filey - Muston - Cayton Village before heading back up the coast for the climactic finale in Scarborough’s North Bay. This year sees both the women’s and men’s races gaining an extra day, with the Asda Women’s race now across two-days and the men’s across four. These extra days give more opportunities to see their heroes. Free
