New Business Day event
Hull Uni links with Ambassadors and awards
The University of Hull is creating a Scarborough & Coast Business Day, linked to Business Awards and Business Ambassadors.
The University of Hull will be creating and running the firstever Scarborough & Coast Business Day later this year, in association with the Business Awards and the Business Ambassadors. The event is aimed at bringing the small, medium and larger business community together to tackle business challenges, as well as providing inspiration for innovation.
Bill Walker, director of strategic relationships at the University of Hull, said: “We are really excited to be able to organise such an event to complement the excellent work of The Scarborough News and the Scarborough Business Ambassadors in bringing together local businesses, large and small, to focus on growth and the health of the Scarborough and North Yorkshire economy.”
Guest speaker will be the former Labour Deputy Prime Minister Lord John Prescott, well-known for his engaging accounts of life in Parliament and sharing his sometimes controversial opinions.
Ed Asquith, editor of The Scarborough News, said: “Thank you to the University of Hull for helping to further expand business dynamics in the area, and also thanks to the support of the Business Ambassadors. It promises to be a special day.”
The Business Day will take place during the day at The Spa in Scarborough on November 30 ahead of the prestigious ScarboroughBusinessAwards in the evening. For more information, please contact Tracy Blundell, of the University of Hull North Yorkshire Partnership Hub on tracy.blundell@ hull.ac.uk
