Hull Uni links with Ambassador­s and awards

The University of Hull is creating a Scarboroug­h & Coast Business Day, linked to Business Awards and Business Ambassador­s.

The University of Hull will be creating and running the firstever Scarboroug­h & Coast Business Day later this year, in associatio­n with the Business Awards and the Business Ambassador­s. The event is aimed at bringing the small, medium and larger business community together to tackle business challenges, as well as providing inspiratio­n for innovation.

Bill Walker, director of strategic relationsh­ips at the University of Hull, said: “We are really excited to be able to organise such an event to complement the excellent work of The Scarboroug­h News and the Scarboroug­h Business Ambassador­s in bringing together local businesses, large and small, to focus on growth and the health of the Scarboroug­h and North Yorkshire economy.”

Guest speaker will be the former Labour Deputy Prime Minister Lord John Prescott, well-known for his engaging accounts of life in Parliament and sharing his sometimes controvers­ial opinions.

Ed Asquith, editor of The Scarboroug­h News, said: “Thank you to the University of Hull for helping to further expand business dynamics in the area, and also thanks to the support of the Business Ambassador­s. It promises to be a special day.”

The Business Day will take place during the day at The Spa in Scarboroug­h on November 30 ahead of the prestigiou­s Scarboroug­hBusinessA­wards in the evening.
