It was a great week for Hack ness & Men with all three teams winning in the Driffield & District Lawn Tennis League. In Division One the A team had a very comfortable 7-2 win at home against Malton A.

Jim Mellor and Steve Mills took all three sets as did new pairing Jake Rawlinson and Roger Amstell.

Final pair Paul Zac and Martin Glassett rounded off a good evening with just the one set.

The B team had an even

more impressive 8-1 win away at Pocklington B in Division Two.

Adam Magson and partner Stuart Hughes excelled on the artificial grass and were really much too strong and forceful for the opposition.

The same can be said for Bryan Edwards and his partner Paul Jackson and they too didn’t drop a set.

The team’s veterans Mark White and Peter Lee had a good night taking two sets but dropping the third when the match was already won.

This was an important win for the team having won three but lost four in the first half of the season as they fight to stay in the second tier of the league.
