What communters have to say...

-

Karen Chiverall, 52, of Osgoodby, said: “On Tuesday night (June 12) there was signal failure at Macclesfield so it was late leaving Leeds. All the way it said this was the Scarborough train but when we arrived at York the guard announced that ‘we’re really sorry but this train will only be going to Malton’. ”

Molly Hartley, 20, of Station Road, Crossgates, said: “I travel three to four days a week to and from university in York, this train is regularly delayed or cancelled. One journey on the busy 4:40 terminated at Malton and all passengers were there for an hour. We asked for taxis/alternatives and the staff refused and told us all to wait. As I live near the station I hear every hour that a train has been delayed or cancelled, and I check through the Trainline app too.

“I no longer pay for tickets in advance as I would prefer to pay on the train and not go through the hassle of getting refunds every week.”

Julie Springall, of Scarborough, said: “I travel three to four times a week for my studies at York St John and also for work. It’s very frustrating that there’s so many delays virtually every time I travel. The days where trains run to timetable are a rarity.”

Karen Chapman said: “Last night, after long day travelling back from holiday train terminated at Malton. All were told to get off and no advice given. Ticket office and toilets on station closed. Very poor service. Had to wait for next train.”

Nicki Edmond said: “I’ve travelled eight times since the change to the timetable, (it was) late by over 15 minutes six times and cancelled at Malton twice. Not good when you were on the 6am to Birmingham and just want to get home!”
