Caring pupils are making a difference
Young people at the Pupil Referral Unit in Scarborough have been working towards their Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS) which is completed in their free time.
One section of the award, ‘Me and My World’, is aimed at making individuals realise how they can make the world around them a better place for others.
Two of the students, Liam Studholme and Jamie McLaren, have chosen to bake and decorate buns then distribute them every week to a different deserving cause for residents or staff to enjoy. They have visited Foundation Scarborough, Saint Catherine’s Hospice and Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home.
Staff and residents have made them feel welcome and the cakes were thoroughly enjoyed.
