Ex­ley stars as Cloughton seal Sev­er­field Cup win

Cloughton 2nds pulled off a re­sound­ing win in the T20 Cay­ley Cup Divi­sion Three fi­nal against Raven­scar.

Bat­ting first, Cloughton had an ex­cel­lent start through cap­tain Liam Salt with a quick 46 runs and Sean Ex­ley, who hit a match­win­ning 87 to run up a to­tal of 174. Fred­die Barker took 3-32. In re­ply Raven­scar could not cope with Cloughton’s bowl­ing at­tack, los­ing wick­ets reg­u­larly and fi­nally be­ing all out for 71, leav­ing Cloughton with a big win by 103 runs.

Sean Ex­ley fin­ished with 4-8 and Tom Owen­son 2-8.

Ex­ley was pre­sented with the man of the match award by Si­mon Barnes, di­rec­tor of Sev­er­field, be­fore Salt lifted the sil­ver­ware.
