Step out with Rowlies and enjoy a big night out

-

There is enough energy in the song and dance showcase featuring members of Rowlies Academy of Dance to light up Scarborough seafront.

The pace never slackens from the opening number Don’t Even Know it from Everybody’s Talking About Jamie to the closer Colour My World from Priscilla Queen of the Desert.

It is a progamme largely of new musicals including Jamie, Hairspray, the Greatest Showman, Priscilla, Hairspray and Dreamgirls.

A particular favourite were excerpts from the Broadway hit Newsies – about newspaper girls and boys – a cue for crowd-pleasing tap routines.

The pace slowed for Jesus Christ Superstar with guest singer Rebecca Kelly shining with I Don’t Know How to Love Him. She also performed One Night Only from Dreamgirls, and Downtown among others.

The young people from Rowlies filled the stage with colour, crafted choreography, confidence, cheekiness and charm.

There was hardly a pause from Proud Mary through This Is Me, You Can’t Stop the Beat, Seasons of Love, Like a Prayer to Colour my World which ensures the curtain comes down with a bang – and

to rousing cheers.
