Scruton leads home the Over-70s in Herriot Trail Race

Four club members competed in the James Herriot Trail Race, which took place over a 14k course with over 1,000 feet of climb near Castle Bolton in Wensleydal­e in aid of Rotary Charities.

The first home for the club was Neil Scruton who finished in 59th overall of 299 and first Over-70 in 72.07.

He was followed by Bob Lillie in 82.06, Dave Parke 97.07 and Lisa Baker 100.48

Two club members competed in the He don four mile road race, which is staged around the market town near Hull.

James Kraft finished up in third place overall of 207 in 21 minutes 16 seconds. Duncan Smart followed in 52nd overall and fourth Over-50 with a personal best time for the distance of 26.36.

Two club members competedin the annual Grimsby 10K.

Michael Dow son finished in 33 overall of a record field of 3,077 in a PB of 36 minutes 1 second.

Paul Thompson was 284th overall in 44 minutes 10 seconds.

Three members competed in the latest of the Esk Valley Fell Club Summer Series of races, the Inclined to

Madness event.

The first home for the club was Sue Haslam, who was fifth female overall and first Over-60.

Bob Lil lie followed in 91 st overall and first Over-65.

Lisa Baker was 28th female.
