Scarborough welcomes visit from German twin town
A group of 51 visitors from the German town of Osterode am Harz, which has been twinned with Scarborough for 30 years, have visited Scarborough..
Among the places visited by the group during their fourday stay were Beverley and Flamborough, Filey, Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and York. On Saturday, the group attended a concert by Scalby Community Choir at Newby and Scalby Community Hall, and on Monday, the day before making their journey home, they had a tour of Scarborough Town Hall with Mayor Joe Plant.
As part of the special bond with the German town, a group from Scarborough will be visiting Osterode next year.
