Scar­bor­ough wel­comes visit from Ger­man twin town

A group of 51 vis­i­tors from the Ger­man town of Os­terode am Harz, which has been twinned with Scar­bor­ough for 30 years, have vis­ited Scar­bor­ough..

Among the places vis­ited by the group dur­ing their fourday stay were Bev­er­ley and Flam­bor­ough, Fi­ley, Scar­bor­ough, Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay and York. On Satur­day, the group at­tended a con­cert by Scalby Com­mu­nity Choir at Newby and Scalby Com­mu­nity Hall, and on Mon­day, the day be­fore mak­ing their jour­ney home, they had a tour of Scar­bor­ough Town Hall with Mayor Joe Plant.

As part of the spe­cial bond with the Ger­man town, a group from Scar­bor­ough will be vis­it­ing Os­terode next year.
