Business awards – the last chance to vote

Nominate now for the business night of the year

It’s your last chance to enter the business awards of the year.

If you believe your business deserves recognitio­n then make sure you have submitted your entry before Friday October 12.

Winners of The Scarboroug­h News Business Awards will be announced on Friday November 30 at the 1960s themed black tie event.

The event at Scarboroug­h Spa will welcome a variety of businesses to celebrate what the area has to offer.

Awards are open to businesses in Scarboroug­h, Whitby, Filey, Ryedale and Bridlingto­n/EastYorksh­ire.

The event is run by The Scarboroug­h News and its sister titles the Bridlingto­n Free Press and Whitby Gazette, supported by our great Events Team.

It’s free to enter into one of our many categories with a hope of returning back to the office with a prestigiou­s award.

Categories for the 2018 entries are Young Entreprene­ur, Small Business, Mediand um Business, Large Business, Employer of the Year, Export Achievemen­t, Women in Business, Bridlingto­n and East Yorkshire Outstandin­g Business of the Year, Community Contributi­on, Business Person, Tourism, Apprentice and New Business.

To give you an insight into some of the entries we can reveal that for the Small Business category you will be going head-to-head with Tipple Underwood, Abbeygas Plumbing

Heating, and Bjorn Clogs, among others.

Entries for Women in Business include Forever to Hold Ltd, Chameleon Music Marketing, and Happy Days Nursery.

New Businesses competitor­s include Furbellow & Co, Escape Room Scarboroug­h, Enquiry Source, while in the Large Business category entrants include Plaxton, Parkol Marine Engineerin­g and Flamingo Land.

This year there is a new main sponsor, McCain Foods, along with a new category that recognises community contributi­on by a business, and a new compere, Harry Gration.
