Someone, somewhere must be able to help ... An SOS appeal has gone out by a charity for premises in Scarborough that it can use as a processing and packing centre for shoeboxes that go out to the needy (see page 10). Operation Christmas Child has been collecting goods, and packing and sending out the boxes for years. But now, despite appeals, it has drawn a blank in its search for premises.
The charity needs empty premises of 8,000 to 10,000 square feet, on one floor, that could be used as a charitable let for six weeks.
There seems to be plenty of empty buildings around town that would be suitable. Are you a business owner, or commercial property owner, that might have a space that fits the bill ?
If so, you’d be doing a huge service to the charity as it tries to bring some Christmas cheer into the lives of those across the world who have little. So, if you can, be a Santa, not a Scrooge.
