Events to help Jayden, 10
Events are being organised to help raise cash for Jayden Linton, of Scarborough, whose story was featured in The Scarborough News last week as he fights a rare form of leukaemia.
The 10-year-old’s story has touched the heart of the Scarborough community.
Jayden was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and spent his 10th birthday in hospital very, very poorly, said mum Jodie. Now it is hoped to raise money for a trip of a lifetime to Disney World in Florida for his 11th birthday.
Jayden is a member of Seamer under 10s football team, and its coach Jamie Gilligan has organised a fundraising match on Saturday 10 November, at Scarborough FC’s Flamingo Land stadium. It will involve Seamer under 10s and their parents, and other Seamer junior teams and parents. Kick-off is 3pm with entry available from 2pm; the £3 entry fee will go to Just For Jayden and a charity to be nominated by his parents.
On Friday 16 November the Mayfield, Seamer, hosts a fundraiser, from 5pm, including a live auction and raffle, sponsored head shaving and body waxing, cake stall, face painting and disco and karaoke with Dave Marshall.
And Max Jenkins, owner of Body Sculpt Conditioning Gym, is taking part in a fundraising Ultra White Collar Boxing event at The Barbican in York on 15 December – see page 12.
