Jean tack­les New York Marathon

Jean Fish rep­re­sented the club at the New York Marathon.

Af­ter set­backs in her train­ing, Fish’s (pic­tured be­low in­set) en­durance was re­warded when she en­tered the fin­ish area in the fa­mous Cen­tral Park to fin­ish in 5 hours 40 min­utes.

Katie Web­ster and Sharon Cor­den stepped up their pre­vi­ous longest race dis­tance to com­pete in a test­ing ul­tra marathon of 31.9 miles at the White Rose event which in­cluded 4,500 feet of el­e­va­tion.

They fin­ished to­gether in 8 hours 12 min­utes in 153rd and 154th and ahead of many more ex­pe­ri­enced run­ners.

War­ren and Emma Fos­ter com­peted in the lat­est races in the It’s Grim Up North series.

War­ren missed the start by a few min­utes but still man­aged to be recorded as fin­ish­ing in 4 hours 10 min­utes.

Emma ran the half-marathon in 2 hours 7 min­utes.

Paul Chap­man re­turned to road rac­ing in the Ed­in­burgh 10 kilo­me­tre Road Race.

He was pleased to fin­ish in 43 min­utes 56 sec­onds and was 314th over­all of 1,719.

Five club mem­bers com­peted in the Gun­pow­der 10 kilo­me­tre Trail Race which was held around York’s Knavesmire.

Paul Thomp­son fin­ished third over­all of 255 and was also the first Over-55 in 42 min­utes 2 sec­onds.

Other club fin­ish times: Maise El­wick 58.15, Sally El­wick 58.17, Martin El­wick 68.10 and Me­lanie Day 77.15.
