Jean tackles New York Marathon
Jean Fish represented the club at the New York Marathon.
After setbacks in her training, Fish’s (pictured below inset) endurance was rewarded when she entered the finish area in the famous Central Park to finish in 5 hours 40 minutes.
Katie Webster and Sharon Corden stepped up their previous longest race distance to compete in a testing ultra marathon of 31.9 miles at the White Rose event which included 4,500 feet of elevation.
They finished together in 8 hours 12 minutes in 153rd and 154th and ahead of many more experienced runners.
Warren and Emma Foster competed in the latest races in the It’s Grim Up North series.
Warren missed the start by a few minutes but still managed to be recorded as finishing in 4 hours 10 minutes.
Emma ran the half-marathon in 2 hours 7 minutes.
Paul Chapman returned to road racing in the Edinburgh 10 kilometre Road Race.
He was pleased to finish in 43 minutes 56 seconds and was 314th overall of 1,719.
Five club members competed in the Gunpowder 10 kilometre Trail Race which was held around York’s Knavesmire.
Paul Thompson finished third overall of 255 and was also the first Over-55 in 42 minutes 2 seconds.
