Cre­at­ing a safer shop­ping ex­pe­ri­ence

The 22nd Christ­mas op­er­a­tion co­de­named Gog­gle, which pro­motes se­cu­rity aware­ness over the Christ­mas shop­ping pe­riod, was launched on De­cem­ber 1 and will run un­til De­cem­ber 27. Chair­man of Scar­bor­ough Anti Theft Group, Janet Jef­fer­son, said: “The crime part­ner­ship headed up by Scar­bor­ough Anti Theft Group, hold­ers with Dis­tinc­tion of the Safer Busi­ness Award for Scar­bor­ough, part­ners with Po­lice, Safer Com­mu­ni­ties and CCTV to en­sure a safe and se­cure shop­ping ex­pe­ri­ence for both res­i­dents and vis­i­tors to Scar­bor­ough.” Scar­bor­ough Anti Theft group, part of the Scar­bor­ough Cham­ber of Trade and Com­merce, is a self fund­ing vol­un­tary group which also co-or­di­nates the suc­cess­ful ‘Shop Watch’ dig­i­tal ra­dio scheme that cov­ers over 70 busi­nesses out­lets through­out the town.
