Hackness pupils’ thriving book club

Hackness Church of England Primary School has held its annual book fair which gives families an opportunity to buy books for their children. Senior Advanced Teaching Assistant, Sharon Procter, said: “At Hackness School the children have a passion for reading for pleasure and we have a thriving Reading Rocks Book Club where around a third of our children regularly come along on a Thursday lunchtime to share and chat about their favourite books and authors.

“We receive commission from each sale in the way of books we can order for school from Scholastic who provide the fair. We now have an amount of money to spend and will look at the available books and let the children decide which ones they would like us to add to our school library.”
