MPs reach out to rail bosses for answers
Filey MP Kevin Hollinrake is among a group of MPs inviting rail bosses to a meeting to outline the improvements that passengers can expect in 2019.
Following a year of disrupted travel and delays, the All Party Parliamentary Group for Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire has invited the Managing Directors of Northern Rail and Transpennine Express along with the regional boss for Network Rail to speak to the Group on Wednesday.
MPs hope to hear what lessons have been learnt from the problems passengers have faced this year.
Co-chairs of the Group, MP Kevin Hollinrake and MP Barry Sheerman, said: “Following a difficult year for rail passengers across the region, MPs, Peers and others will want to know what further improvements they will be seeing next year and beyond to rail services across the region.
“We look forward to the rail companies and network rail accepting our invitation to address us.”
