The pies have it

The 2018 Old Town Pork Pie competition was filled with all the usual tension at the weekend.

The event, held at The Leeds Arms, is an annual one and is organised by the Scarborough Sub Aqua Club. The competition is a quest to find the best homemade pork pie. All entry fees and sampling donations will go to the local Fisherman and Firemen’s Charity.

This year’s winner was Martin Bland, whose award was picked up by dad Peter, as he couldn’t attend the judging, with Leeds Arms landlady Marie Wood handing over the prize.

The competition was judged by Mayor Joe Plant, David Horsley, Ken Jennings and Mark Nockels.
