Rolo cruise past rivals Specsavers

Division One leaders Rolo cruised past second placed Specsavers.

Mark Marshall’s defeat of Sam Lowe was Specsavers only win a 9-1 loss.

Hackness took all available points in a 7-3 win against Whitby Endeavour, with Whitby’s points coming from forfeits.

Hackness’ Derek Elliott and Pete Kirk took a clean sweep of the matches.

James Builders’ lynchpin Simon James was again unbeaten as his team edged Hobnobs A 6-4.

Mike Fenby added two further wins and Simon teamed up with Julian James to take the doubles.

In Division Two, having pipped Picadore B in the previous week’s fixture, Eastfield Warriors were unable to repeat the feat against Picadore A.

A solid performanc­e from Picadore’s Richard Lloyd, Martin Zammit and Vic Hollingswo­rth ensured a 6-4 win, yet Eastfield’s Guy Whiting remained unbeaten throughout. Liberators Southside’s fine run of form came to an abrupt end with a 10-0 thrashing at the hands of Hackness TTC.

There were trebles for Noel Seery, Tom Byrne and Christophe­r Found.

Newbats’ blend of youth and experience had the desired effect as they comfortabl­y beat Eastfield Tigers 8-2 in Division Three.

Marcus Moore’s impressive debut season continued with three wins.

Veteran Roy Lowe and Louis Fell chipped in with a brace each. The Eraser Blades rested captain Brian Goodliffe yet still saw off Ping Long.

Tony Craven took a treble for the Blades. An inspired Whitby Resolution defeatedfi­eld Fusion 6-4.

Eastfield’s Richard Seastron continues to be one of the division’s most formidable players, racking up another three wins.

Naomi Edwards won three matches for the second game in succession as The Bat-Alions beat Phoenix 7-3. Bat-Alions’ other points came via two wins for Anthony Rudge, one for Kath Edwards and a doubles win for Naomi Edwards and Rudge.
