Ladies land 1-1 draw away at Lindum
Scarborough Ladies drew 1-1 at home to Lindum in Yorkshire Division Three.
It was a disappointing draw for the girls as they matched up against the opposition.
There were some great moments of passing and teamwork throughout the game leading to a well-executed goal by Becky Gillbank, her first of the season. Scarborough 1sts’ unbeaten run now stretches to five games as they drew 1-1 at home to Doncaster 4ths.
Laurence Webb was nominated as player of the match for his great organisation and distribution from the back.
Captain Rikki Lawrence was the only scorer for Scarborough. Scarborough 2nds lost 1-0 at Boston Spa 3rds.
Boston earned a narrow win when a loose ball in the box that was slotted past keeper Benjamin Colling.
Scarborough dominated large periods of the match and there was excellent link up play throughout the team especially between Paul Witty, Rob Wilcockson and James Mallender.
Scarborough’s golden opportunity fell to Isaac Barker, who had his attempt saved on the line from an excellent defensive block.
Scarborough were unable to take their opportunities once in the final third.
The result keeps Scarborough in 11th place in Division Five North with plenty of positives to take into second half of the season.
Player of the match went to the whole team for their efforts.
Their next fixture is at home to Thirsk 3rds.
