Burns bags Whiterose win
Scarborough’s young motorsport star Logan Burns has enjoyed a successful 2018.
This year Burns competed in the Whiterose Motocross Club Championship in the 50cc auto class and finished the 15-round season in first place overall to become the Whiterose MXC Auto champion for 2018.
In addition to this, he also competed in his first national series in the British Youth Nationals, finishing the championship in an impressive sixth overall against the UK’s best riders.
Burns started riding motocross at the age of four at local club Mud in your Blood.
At the age of six Burns began racing at local clubs around Yorkshire working his way up over the last couple of years.
Burns is a pupil at Northstead School, who have been very supportive of Logan’s racing this year.
Deputy head teacher Shaun Hopper said: “We are very proud of Logan for all of his achievements in his sport.
“His dedication and drive ensure that he is outstanding at what he does. He is a true champion.”
Logan’s parents Ryan and Hayley added: “We are so very proud of Logan in how far he has come and what he has accomplished already in a sport that he loves.
“He has such passion and a natural talent and ability on a bike , it is amazing to see.
“After a little bad luck and a few nasty crashes this season, Logan has really shown true grit and determination to come back fighting and achieve the results he has.
“Although motocross can be scary for us as parents at times the smile on Logan’s face makes it all worthwhile.
“Motocross is an expensive sport and although we put everything we have into it, it’s impossible for us to fully nurture Logan’s potential without the help of sponsorships .
“We are always on the look-out for potential sponsors and support to help in giving Logan the best chance for success.”
