Homeless charity achieves fundraising target

-

Youth homelessness charity SASH have raised more than £13,500 to support those who will be homeless this winter.

The money has been raised through the ‘The Big Give’, the UK’s biggest online matched donor campaign which can match donations £ for £.

The charity’s aim was to raise £12,500 by December 4.

Thanks to an initial donation of £3,125 from the Helmsley Group, an additional £3,125 pledged through charitable trust The Four Acres, and the support of the local community, SASH has gone beyond their target and raised a total of £13,550.50.

The money will be used to ensure young people in North and East Yorkshire have a warm and safe place to stay in a volunteer’s home; are able to access round the clock care over the festive period and receive a Christmas present and meal with the opportunity to get involved in festive activities such as the panto and iceskating.
