Rolo have too much for Hobnobs in 9-1 win

Division One leaders Rolo were 9-1 winners over Hobnobs A.

With Hobnobs’ only point, Dave Oxley outlasted Sam Lowe to win in an astonishin­g scoreline of 10-12, 13-11, 14-12, 8-11, 11-1.

Rolo’s Moke Warburton managed to turn around a two-game deficit to beat the experience­d Pat Swindell.

Hackness inflicted a 10-0 defeat on Mavericks.

Match of the night was Neil Raine’s five-end defeat of John Mancrief. James Builders had too much in the tank for Whitby Endeavour, winning 10-0. Simon James, Mike Fenby and Gary Connolly all continued their irresistib­le form.

Specsavers enjoyed a 9-1 win over Scalby Old Boys.

Glenn Hodgson and Mark Marshall hit a treble each for Specsavers and Piotr Ozon came away with a brace. Picadore B took bragging rights in a 7-3 win over Picadore A in Division Two.

Steve Atkinson was the player of the match, winning all three singles in counters.

Nigel Chandley and Karl Cousins added a brace.

Both John Farrell and Allan Thurling won three matches as Liberators Southside beat

Eastfield Warriors 8-2. Teammate Derek Harris made an impressive comeback from injury to win two.

Eraser Blades’ Brian Goodliffe needed all of his battling qualities to see off the challenge of Whitby Resolution in Division Three.

His three five-end wins against dogged opponents set up the 7-3 win.

Despite a 6-4 defeat to Phoenix, Eastfield Fusion remain level at the top of the league with Eraser Blades.

The match saw Division Three legend Jonathan Wanless beaten by Eastfield’s new kid on the block Richard Seastron, on his way to yet another treble. Ping Long strolled to an 8-2 win over bottom club Eastfield Tigers.

The division’s top junior Mia Longman won all three of her matches, with Mark Longman equalling the feat.
