Raising cash for British Legion

In the past five years staff at Sainsbury’s in Scarborough have raised over £15,000 for the Royal British Legion. A spokesperson from the store said: “We would like to thank Karen Punter and Marie Haynes for the incredible work they have put in to creating the beautiful poppies, over the last five years.

“Helped by colleagues, past and present, as well as family members, they have painstakingly knitted and crocheted their way to raising over £15,000! A fantastic display adorns the store every October and we are all very grateful for the hard work and dedication from all involved!”
