Poppy Day events preview
Crosses were planted in Scarborough’s Garden of Remembrance on Alma Square during a service last Sunday.
The Laying of Crosses event marks the start of a week of remembrance in the town.
There was a parade through the town centre before the gathering in the garden.
Veterans, cadets, representatives from the Royal British Legion and council officials, including Mayor Hazel Lynskey, attended the service.
The Band of the Yorkshire Volunteers also played.
