Holly’s helping hand for NHS charities
Seven-year-old and her dad deliver hand gel around Hunmanby
A seven-year-old Hunmanby girl is raising funds for the NHS by delivering hand sanitiser during lockdown. Accompanied by her father, Jai, Holly Corder has been delivering small bottles of sanitiser gel to every house in the village. Each one has a small note asking the recipient to donate to her NHS fundraising target on Just Giving.
Jai said: “She wanted to do something. She’d seen Colonel Tom. So I racked my brains and realised everyone was after sanitiser.”
Jai, who owns JuicEBitz, a website which supplies charging cables and chargers, used his contacts to source hand sanitiser gel and a family friend designed the Help Holly logo and flyers.
Holly decants the sanitiser into 50ml bottles and her grandfather adds a label. The pair then walk the village delivering bottles, mapping their route on Strava to make sure they don’t miss a house.
The bottles are given away free of charge, with people donating if they choose to do so. To date, Holly has raised almost £1,000.
Once they’ve finished with Hunmanby they plan to move on to Muston and then Filey.

The seven-year-old, whose hobbies include drawing, painting and learning new things said: “I get upset when I think about all the people that are poorly from the coronavirus and I want to help raise money for the NHS.
Jai is also donating money from sales of larger containers of sanitiser sold through the JuicEBitz website.
Lockdown has meant Holly has been unable to socialise as she would normally, but she’s already making plans for the end of lockdown: “I love playing with makeup and fancy dress. When the lockdown has finished I would like to have a sleepover with my best friend Evie.
“Thank you to everyone who donates and a big thank you to our wonderful NHS staff.””
