Filming in North Yorkshire, and Cruise’s next stunt

-

Last week it was revealed that Hollywood A-Lister Tom Cruise was spotted filming his latest blockbuster Mission: Impossible 7 in North Yorkshire.

Filming takes place a short way from Levisham Station. Pickering and Levisham station car parks have been taken over by almost 300 cast and crew members.

Cruise was spotted filming an action sequence at Levisham which saw him clinging to the outside of a steam locomotive in a blue suit and running along the top of the train and carriage with co-stars Esai Morales and Hayley Atwell.

The station is closed until May 15 when services resume.

But where could the Hollywood megastar be heading next, and what could his next big stunt be? Well, a planning document may have revealed just that.

A production company working on Mission: Impossible 7 is filming a dramatic train crash scene at a quarry in Derbyshire.

The Peak District National Park Authority granted Jupiter Spring Productions Ltd’s planning application to shoot at the disused Darlton Quarry in Stoney Middleton.

The production company are listed as working on Mission: Impossible 7 and 8, according to the Film and Television Industry Alliance.

The planning document revealed that a temporary 370-metre long section of railway line is being constructed above the edge of the quarry in the Peak District.

A partial 115-metre bridge structure will also be constructed over the edge of which a train will run off and plunge dramatically into a water-filled tank below which has been excavated for this action scene.

The document said “on the two shoot days, there will be noisy activities taking place – the sound of a train coming off the quarry face and some controlled explosions.”
